 Yes of course, we offer short break/Respite stays or Day Care visits that will give you a good idea of what it would be like to live at Keate House longer term. Please contact our Care Manager on 01925 752091 for full details.   

 

Will I be registered with a local GP?

 Will I be registered with a local GP?

A.         Yes – if you are already registered with one of our local surgeries this will remain the same. If you are from outside the area we can arrange for you to be registered locally if you prefer. We can also arrange any district nurse visits you may require.  

How often will my laundry be collected?

A.      Laundry will be collected from your room daily and is usually returned the next day.

Can I arrange to have a private telephone in my room and how do I pay for this?

A.           There are telephone points in all our rooms, we can arrange connection of the phone and bills will be sent directly to you or your designated bill payer.

What experience does the registered Care Manager have?

A.          Our Care Home Manager has over 20 years experience in running and managing a home in the care sector.

A.         Keate House is a family owned company, both the Business Director Malcolm Clarkson and the Business Manager Diane Clarkson are actively involved in the daily running of the  home.

 An initial assessment of the cost of your individual care will be made as you come into the home and this will be regularly reviewed. It is likely to increase as your care needs change. Can I receive Sky TV in my room?

  Yes you can but you will need to subscribe as an individual to Sky direct as you would in your own home.

A.          Yes you can request to see your Care Plan and notes at any time

Can I bring my own belongings?

We encourage our residents to bring along their personal belongings, furniture and pictures to personalise their room and make it their own.

Yes we have open visiting times, you are welcome to come and go as you please.

Our weekly fees are based on an assessment of the needs of the individual at the time they come into the home and this is reviewed on-going.  Fees are paid either by the resident, their family members or social services, in some cases there is a combination of both, based on your entitlements.

We have many ladies and gentleman who visit our home frequently for short periods of time either for a short break, carer break, to recover from an illness or after a hospital stay.

This type of care is called ‘Respite Care’ and in some circumstances funding is available towards this care by contacting social services.

How do I know the home is right for me and can meet my needs?

Our home Manager will meet with you and your family to discuss you living needs and wishes to ensure that all your needs can be met by our home. If social services are involved a needs assessment will be put in place which will show the level of care and the type of care you or your family member needs.

How would I make a complaint against the home?

A.          In the unusual event you would need to make a complaint, we have a formal complaints procedure within the home, this information is included as part of your welcome pack or can    be requested at any time.

We recommend that you call Keate House to discuss your care needs and we will arrange a visit to the home at your convenience.
