Local McColls store in Statham have this week made a charity donation to Keate House’s Residents Fund.
Store Manager Neil Harrop presented a cheque for £239 to Rachel Entwistle (Administration Manager at Keate House) and two of our residents - Margaret Lupton and Betty Hodgkinson, who are avid newspaper readers. Many Keate House residents buy their daily newspapers from McColls in Statham and are loyal customers to the store.
The money donated has been raised from the convenience store’s initiative to support their local community by making regular charitable donations to worthwhile causes. The initiative means that one penny is donated each time one of their featured promotional items is purchased by a customer.
Keate House residents will use the money to pay for a ‘Seaside Theme Day’ for the 46 residents in the home, to enjoy. The day will see a visit from a donkey from the Manchester Donkey sanctuary, will include a fish and chips lunch, ice creams and sing-a-long entertainment with lots of fun and laughter!
Keate House residents would like to say a big ‘Thankyou’ to the McColls store and to all its customers who have contributed to the charity fund.
