Keate House Remembers – A fitting Armistice Day tribute
As a special tribute to all who lost their lives in the World Wars, the creative team of residents and staff at Keate House made a beautiful and fitting tribute for the November Armistice Day Festival of Remembrance.
The eye-catching memorial included poppies which were made from recycled plastic bottles - where the tops and bases of the bottles were painted red and cut into shape to make the individual poppies, these were mounted on black and white literary tribute panels printed and individually pasted on as a contrasting backdrop.
The striking pictoral collage entitled ‘Lest we Forget’ contained over sixty individual poppies and was displayed on the exterior signage outside the home for Remembrance week. Residents and staff joined in the Remembrance Services on the 11th November as well as on Remembrance Sunday.
