Remembrance Day visit to Imperial War Museum, Manchester

Residents paid a fitting visit on the 11th November Remembrance Day, to The Imperial War Museum in Manchester where they reminisced and sang war time songs in tribute to all those who served and lost their lives in the world wars.
The highlight of the day was viewing the newly imagined breath-taking poppy sculpture with over 10,000 poppies cascading across 30 metres of architecture. Designed and create by Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, the poppies now form part of the IWM’s collection in their new permanent home and are on permamnet display for visitors to enjoy.
To mark this special time and the festival of Remebrance residents had earlier in the week created and installed their own tribute and poppy display around the Keate House signage in the front garden area.
