Keate House takes part in Field of Flowers project

Keate House residents were delighted to join in with The National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and Drawing Life’s recent art project, where partners across the world were invited to create a field of flowers for the National Day of Arts in Care Homes on the 24th September.
The residents created their lead image of a sunflower which is the flower of the Ukraine, in addition to the forget me nots which represent Alzheimer's and Dementia.
The initiative was designed for participants to have fun in their care settings making images of flowers, and to share their pictures online.
Care Home Manager Diane Clarkson commented:
“Keate House residents love taking part in art initiatives as well as the regular Art classes that are run in the home by our local artist and volunteer Helena. Over the years we have been involved with many fantastic local and national art projects; we are always delighted with the wonderful work produced by our art enthusiasts. We appreciate and very much thank Helena and our in-house activity team here at Keate House for the support and encouragement in bringing many wonderfully creative art sessions and projects within the home”
As an active member of NAPA – The National Activity Providers Association, Keate House are also excited to share they are one of three Care Homes in the UK who have been nominated as The Activity Team of the Year Award which will be presented at the Annual Awards event later this year.
