Residents visit the Google garage bus

Keate House residents had a recent taste of the cyber world when digital experts from Google visited the village with their Google garage bus. The winter sub- zero temperatures didn’t deter our surfers as they boarded the branded double-decker bus along with other members of the public to take part in demonstrations on the internet and IT skills coaching.
The day was planned by Kirsty James of The Colony Networking Group in collaboration with LiveWire Warrington (who run Warrington Libraries) and the Friends of Lymm Library. It formed part of a wider vision for Lymm to encourage more business and community interaction and support the library’s future by adding more business and community services.
The Google team have kindly agreed to make a special visit to Keate House, in April, when they will run a special 1.5 hour session for our residents to cover topics such as: Introduction to the Internet, using Social media – Face book and Twitter and how to use email also.
Our Residents Betty (age 90) and Mary (age 92) are seen in the picture having 1-2-1 demonstrations.
