Residents, staff and families raise a fabulous £159 in 2 Charity events
The 100K Running Down Dementia Challenge for Alzheimer’s Research was taken up in the summer with Carer Louise completing a marathon run and colleague Angela climbing Snowden, as well as residents and team members who tallied up the 100 kilometres by walking laps of our beautiful Keate House grounds. One of our residents Norma was totally dedicated to the cause completing her daily garden walk. The team raised a wonderful £74 for the Alzheimer’s Research project - Running Down Dementia 2018.
Our Keate House Bake off and Macmillan Coffee morning on the 28th September also raised a superb £85 and saw a sample of cakes fit for any TV bake off show. We had gin and fudge topped fairy cakes, marsh mellow brownies, chocolate orange cake as well as a vegan victoria sponge. The top prize winner was Care worker Natalie’s son Louie (his mum pictured above), with his Midget gem chocolate cake!!
Thank you to everyone who joined our events and raised money for these wonderful charities!
