Dignity Action Day celebration – 1st February!
Dignity Action Day at Keate House saw the home filled with fun activities for everyone to join in with; from baking cakes, live music performances to watching a fabulous film together in our cinema room. Dignity is so important to everyone and something which all the staff and residents at Keate House are mindful of, not just on Dignity Action Day but all year through!
Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people's rights to dignity and provide a memorable day for people receiving care; it also aims to ensure people using care services are treated as individuals, are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.
In Supporting the national initaitive Keate House’s aims were to raise awareness of the importance of Dignity in Care and give our residents an an extra special day whilst providing a great community networking opportunity.
Dame Joan Bakewell, Dignity in Care Ambassador comments about the initiative:
"Dignity Action Day highlights a more respectful way of behaving towards vulnerable people. The very old and the very young clearly need our respect, but it wouldn't do any harm to spread the dignity message across the population then we can all benefit."
