Keate House to launch community Dementia Support Group
The team at Keate House are delighted to launch their new Dementia Support Group On Tuesday 9th July at 2.00pm with an open invitation to those in the community who may be diagnosed with or caring for someone with a Dementia.
The home will open it’s doors to the community and provide Afternoon Tea accompanied by the opportunity to make new friends and share with others their life changing experiences of living with Dementia.
Diane Clarkson Care Home Manager commented:
“Coping with Dementia can be a very lonely place for those diagnosed with the condition as well as those caring for a partner or relative. Many people feel isolated and anxious about this life changing condition and often need to share their experiences with others.
As part of our vision for Keate House to work and reach out into the community we believe we can really help local families by providing a place to meet, talk and share support to each other on a regular basis. Also providing an opportunity for the families who use the home’s Daycare services to meet and share their experiences and support in the wider community.
Our first meeting will be the Afternoon Tea event and we invite families to join us to share their experiences and meet other families who would welcome the opportunity to discuss how they can support each other.”
If you would like to know more about the Support group and plans for future meetings, Keate House welcome all enquiries as well as details the first Afternoon Tea event on the 9th July.
