Residents' Artwork Displayed in Local library and Café
Keate House once again collaborated with the local Nursery to make a beautiful and vibrant artwork piece which is on display in Lymm Library as part of the National Age of Creativity Festival.
This years theme was ‘Seasons Of Creativity’ and local art enthusiast Helena Edwards facilitated the creation of several pieces which local groups collaborated on. Helena who regularly visits Keate House to do art classes created the ideas for the work, which shows colourful birds on a blue back drop. Local nursery children provided the birds wings and tails by drawing around their hands, whilst the elderly artists made a collage of this to create the vibrant final piece which went on display in July.
A second theme of collages entitled ‘Starry Night’ displayed in the Sanctuary Café Lymm, is also part of the project and has been produced by a collaboration of two local Care homes in the village as well as three local churches, friends of Lymm Library, a local hostel for the homeless, local luncheon club and nurseries.
Greeting cards are available to buy with the images on, with funds going towards supporting future art projects.
