End of Term Visits to local Nurseries and School Events
July was a very busy month out in the community where Keate House residents joined in end of term celebrations held by Lymm High School as well as local nurseries: St Mary’s Pre-school and Holly Grange Montessori Nursery.
The High School held their annual Founders Day Service at St Mary’s Church whilst Holly Grange celebrated the graduation of their pre-school children to full time school and St Mary’s Pre-school held a teddy’s bears picnic where residents attended also.
Diane Clarkson our Care Home Manager commented of the excellent community links that Keate House has forged over the last few years with our local schools and how bridging the gap with generations is so rewarding for all:
“We are always delighted when we see the generations meeting and sharing time and activities together whether it be working on specific art projects, listening to musical performances, attending special services or joining in with fun activities of the younger children such as a Teddy Bear’s pic-nic!
At Keate House we have excellent links with the High School and local Nurseries and Pre-schools. We arrange reciprocal visits which are really beneficial for all, giving the children an opportunity to meet our elderly residents in the care home setting or enabling our residents to share in the delights and achievements of our inspiring young people in our schools, pre-schools and churches across the village. Many Thanks to all the teachers, children and generous volunteers who make this all happen so seamlessly.”
